DISPOSITION - Charly will be 30 years old March 08 but doesn't look it. Charly is a true black stallion, standing 15 hands and weighing 1000 lbs. He has good conformation and a willing disposition. Charly is pleasure to ride, and has been my personal trail horse and trusty companion since he was 2 years old.
Charly passed away June 16 2010. Charly had arthritis and had trouble getting up. I had the vet check him out and the prognosis was not very good, I knew he would not go through another winter so the decision was made to put him down. He is buried under a maple tree next to his pasture. This was one of the hardest things I have had to do but it was for the best. He will be sorely missed.
BREEDING - Charly is 89% foundation bred, going back to sires like Joe Handcock, Old Sorrel, Steel Dust, Oklahoma Star, Peter McCue, Joe Reed I & II and Zantanon. True to his foundation breeding, Charly has the blocky, bulldog type quarter horse build with a gorgeous head, huge jaws and little ears. QUALITY - He produces large athletic babies with his good looks and easy going disposition. Charly shows a lot of cow sense and passes this on to his foals. His offspring are competing in both the cutting and pleasure horse arenas across the country. Charly has produced a large percentage of black foals from Quarter mares, Black / White from Paint mares and black with white blankets from Appaloosa mares.
Color -Build - Versatility & Disposition All this makes for a well rounded pleasure horse
